Gallery ATARAH is a hybrid artist studio and gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
This is Atarah Atkinson's working creative space—an active studio where she produces fine art photography and mixed media installations—and a gallery presenting curated exhibitions for Brooklyn-based and regional artists. The space operates on a living gallery model: art-making and exhibition programming coexist, creating transparency between creative process and finished work.
The gallery presents two types of programming. Salon Shows are biannual curated group exhibitions (winter and summer) featuring 15-20 artists working from authentic self-exploration. These fully installed exhibitions provide a professional platform for artists creating outside traditional gallery structures, with an artist-friendly 65/35 commission split. Salon Nights are monthly open studio gatherings (first Fridays) offering casual, accessible art viewing and community connection between exhibition cycles.
Beyond exhibitions, Gallery ATARAH maintains an ongoing shop of collected vintage and antique fine art alongside Atarah's original works. When biannual shows aren't running, the salon wall displays available pieces from both the vintage collection and her personal practice. The gallery also hosts artist talks, workshops, and other community-focused programming designed to support artists' professional development and build genuine connections within Brooklyn's creative community.
Gallery ATARAH prioritizes quality, accessibility, and authentic engagement. Each exhibition is curated through careful attention to how work exists in dialogue—pieces selected not for predetermined themes but for their ability to create unexpected conversations and visual resonance when experienced together. This is a space for artists whose practice involves honest self-examination and genuine dialogue with personal experience, and for audiences seeking contemporary art presented without pretension or gatekeeping.
